Vista Home Premium to Ultimate Anytime upgrade
Haven't found a similar post so I guess i'll add one (sorry if its a repeat I
think i've searched thoroughly)
I had upgraded to homeprmium a while back because my university was selling
upgrade editions for $60 or so. yesterday, I purchased the vista ultimate
liscence over Anytime Upgrade. I followed the steps and used my Anytime
Upgrade disc and it installed everything with no glitches. Until, that is,
it attempted to start up Windows after the completion of the install. i get
a blue error screen (flashing up too fast to even recognize any of the
writing) then my computer restarts. I eventually end up with a few screens
of decisions: the first screen offers the follwoing choices:
Windows Vista
Windows Vista Rollback
Windows Vista
I've tried both of the "Windows Vista" choices and neither works when I
progress to the next screen (the one that customarily offers Normal, Safe
Mode, etc.) and chose the normal start or the start in safe mode options. in
the end I used teh Windows Vista Rollback and waited until today to try the
upgrade again. And the problem repeated itself. I've tried booting from DVD
and runnign the repair option but its been running now for 3+hours and still
just shows the moving status bar and "searching for problems" underneath it.
If anybody can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.
