Troubles using "Turn Windows Feature On or Off" Vista Ultimate x64
I apologize if this is the wrong forum to ask this question, but I'm having
issues adding/removing (mostly adding) Windows features from the control
panel...At first it started with the games that were included, there were
many that I'd never play so I removed them (or tried to anyway). I'd get
errors frequently, something similar to 'not all the features were
successfully updated.'
I've had to actually try multiple times to actually get rid of the games I
didn't want. Ok, so this isn't what's really bugging me...The issue really is
that I'm trying to get IIS onto my machine, but I get the same error. I've
even tried to login as local administrator to see if it was something to do
with user elevation, this doesn't seem to be the case as logging in as
administrator doesn't even help... Also whenever I try to install IIS, it
takes FOREVER... I've even gone so far as to try installing IIS from an
elevated command prompt... has anyone else had similar troubles? Are there
certain services that are required to run for IIS to install properly? I've
spent around 2 hours last night trying to figure this out...I can
install/remove IIS from a work machine, the only difference aside from
hardware is that the work machine is 32bit Vista Ultimate...help!
