Nvidia 162.22_forceware_winvista_32bit_english_whql
I run a PC under Vista Home Premium. I allowed Windows Update to update the
driver for my Nvidia 7600GS graphics card and since then there is the little
icon in the systray inviting me to Safely Remove Hardware, the hardware
being my drives C and D. Well obviously I was not ecstatic about removing
drive C, but I did try it for drive D and it said something like "can't do
that because drive D is in use". So there the little icon sits. I then went
to Nvidia's site and downloaded and re-installed the recommended driver
(which reassuringly was the same one Windows Update had used) following the
instructions to uninstall the old version first, but the result is identical
to the earlier update. Anyone had this experience? I guess I can live with
it till the next update, but it seems quirky and puzzling and I'm curious to
know what's going on. - Doug
