Laserjet 1012

Anyone else having trouble setting up HP printers? I've got a Laserjet 1012
and PhotoSmart C3150 -- was able to get the photosmart to work, but Vista
does not recognize the laserjet. It will install the driver (from HP) but it
tries to print to the photosmart.......

So far, not that impressed with the commercial release of Vista......

I have a HP LJ2200d and a PS8250 and they set up flawlessly.

Did you let VISTA detect yours or install HP software as the specify
which is to install the software with the printer USB cable not
connected to the PC until the installation process tells you to, or
until after [Finish]?

If you have the Photosmart set as your default printer -- and maybe
VISTA does that for the firts installed -- then Windows will print to
it "by default" unless you manually select the other printer in the
Window that comes up when you intruct to print. Note that if you use a
Print Icon on a toolbar that may bypass that window. Use File / Print
if this happens and either select the laserjet or of course change to
it as default.
