I thank everybody for their help but I bought a new sony dru-830a and it
works perfect. it was a bad cd dvd drive.

I am seeing a similar problem and I am running a production version of the
enterprise edition. I have two sony dvd drives and neither is working with
dvd's. Any ideas?

Jacob I just replaced mine and it works perfectly. Good luck. If you
reinstall windows it might work.
