Unknown Device.

Hi all,

I've recently installed Vista Ultimate. Looking in the 'Device Manager' I
found an unknown device. Upon further inspection I discovered that it is for
my Mustek 1200 UB Plus scanner.

Under 'Hardware Ids the message is: 'USB\VID_05D8&PID_4002&REV_0100 and
USB\VID_05D8&PID_4002.

As I understand it there is no driver for this scanner yet. Can anyone
confirm this? Is there a driver? Is there a driver being developed? Where
can I get it?

Should I just go out and purchase a new scanner that's Vista compatible?

If the Mustek Website doesn't have it, it probably doesn't exist. Scanners
are pretty cheap these days. I'd get a new one if Mustek says they won't
support Vista. Have you tried the XP driver? I use the XP driver for my
Dell All-In-One Photo 964 printer and it works OK for now until a native Vista
driver comes out. Then I'll switch to that and eliminate the few problems I have.

I have tried my XP driver without success. I'll probably get a new scanner.
I've found Vista to be easy to use & nifty looking. I don't want to go back
to XP for the sake of a scanner!!
