Have you tried it yet? I am downloading, hoping that the install won't
trash Vista (RTM).
Here goes nothing...

[CUT]
Can you suggest the best way to install new drivers? Under XP i usually run
catuninstaller to completely remove the drivers, under vista i've not tried
yet. Maybe it's much more simple i think, using the uninstalling option
under control panel.... maybe

I just run the .exe -- the setup program gives an "upgrade" option.

I'm running it with no problem. There doesn't seem to be any difference
in speed or visual accuracy now, though.

A couple of days ago I updated my ATI 9550 driver from 7.14.10.830 (x86 RTM)
to 8.31.100.321 (Dec 5) and it seems to have cured a problem I was having
with the system ocassionally freezing for a minute or so when several apps
were loaded. Can't say what caused the problem but it seems to be gone now
and things seem a bit more responsive but that's totally subjective.

Re: ATI has released an updated display driver, version 8.31.100.3
I'm running vista rc1 and wish I could have gotten in on the rc2 release.
I've been fighting the installer for the new drivers for the past day and now
I finaly have got the drivers installed but I'm having problems with video
stuttering and lockups from hell on even the simplest of things, like mine
sweeper...
Still can't get the control center to work, and it always fails the install
so I'm just happy to have what I got right now.

Re: ATI has released an updated display driver, version 8.31.100.3
There were changes in VISTA related to graphics between RC1 and RC2 so I amd
not surprised that trying to install RTM opr RC21 drivers on RC1 would do
anything but cause a lot of problems.

Re: ATI has released an updated display driver, version 8.31.100.3
Heck I've even tried to find the rc1 drivers, and haven't found them so far.
It's like when a new version comes out that the old ones are not even
archived anymore for those of us that need the oler drivers. Which really
sucks.. Now I guess that I'm stuck with crappy graphics until I can buy vista
rtm later this year...
