Re: logitech webcams in vista
Just in case anyone is interested...I am running vista rc1 and did try to
install my pro 4000 (did not work at all) I have since upgraded to the
quickcam ultra which has Vista drivers available from Logitech....Video is
awesome but there are bugs with voice..Tried the same camera on xp and it
insatalls and works beautifully....Thought at first it was a bug with the
actual built in mic but was proven wrong...I hope that when Vista is actually
released this works as it should....Just thought someone would want to know
that indeed Logitech will have the drivers but not until Vista is released..I
called to verify............

quick cam. I installed it & it works.

Re: logitech webcams in vista
I have a Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000.
When I installed Vista RC2 (both x86 and x64) drivers for the microphone were installed and worked
properly.
A few weeks ago Windows Update downloaded LOGICOOL drivers, and the camera started working in
Messenger.
I downloaded the Vista drivers and installed them. Logitech software and Messenger worked perfectly.
However, now everytime I boot into either Vista x86 or Vista x64, I get the Found New Hardware
dialogue, if I let it automatically install the drivers everything works again.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Logitech drivers, but I still get the Found New
Hardware dialogue every time I boot up.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can correct this?

Re: logitech webcams in vista
I purchased a Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000 and attempted to install on new Dell
desktop Vista Home Premium OS. After three install/uninstall cycles I
progressed as far as the microphone on the WebCam working. These install
cycles included clean installs with all antivirus/span/firewall disabled &
msconfig clean boot; install from Logitec web site & from the CD. In this
process, I had a Logitec tech support person advising me for about 3 hours
(continuous). The Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000 will not work on my Vista
machine.
I installed this newly purchased Quickcam Pro on Windows XP desktop without
difficulty and the device is working fine.
After all this Logitec recommended I return the QuickCam Pro5000 to the
vendor; Logitec provided me with an authorization code to return the device.
Hopefully, Microsoft and Logitec will collaborate and find a solution to
this nonense.

Re: logitech webcams in vista
I have the Logitech QuickCam Fushion going in Vista and it works fine - with
the newest drivers or without any drivers at all (just in Messenger).
