RE: No CD drives show in Vista
I never installed roxio or any thing else this is exactly what i did. I have
2 drives, a cd-rw and a dvd-rw, well the copy i had was on a cd and i booted
from it. Well for me to do so the dvd-rw had to be the master so i switched
that (on the back of the drives and no i dont have 2 masters or 2 slaves now)
then i booted and installed after i installed virus stuff and all that from
the internet, it didnt occur to me that i had no cd drives untill 2 days
later when i tried to install the mother board drivers. I have no cd drives
or buring software installed on my computer another thing that was weird was
that when i imported the old system settings and files it would not take any
of the settings so now all of my files that were properly intalled into the
registry and every thing are voidly put into an OldFiles folder. So now i
have to install every thing back from a cd but i cant even do that. I
understand that drivers for hardware cant just be patched by microsoft to
work in vista but its kinda unfair that none of my drives will work. Also
vista is seeing my 5.1 Live Drive from Sound Blaster as a 2 speaker system
because i have not working vista compatable drivers.
Any way first things first, i need my drives so in conclusion the last post
didnt work any thing else?
