Video Display Resolution
I have a Viewsonic VA1912wb widescreen LCD and in Vista RC2 there isn't an
option to set the monitor the it's native resolution of 1440X900. Any
suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. I do have the drivers from
Viewsonic and Nvidia installed. The best resolution that I am able to use,
without any distortion (horizontal or vertical) is 1280X800.

Re: Video Display Resolution
At this point nVidia isn't supporting the 1440x900 resolution if connected
via DVI. Some have indicated that when they switch the connection to VGA
then they can obtain the resolution.

Re: Video Display Resolution
I can get the 1440X900 resolution in Win XP x86 and x64 using the DVI and
D-sub cables. The only thing that I can think of is that the beta drivers
from Nvidia don't have that capability yet.

Re: Video Display Resolution
AFAIK neither MS or any of the hardware vendors are supplying abt new
drivers for releases prior to to the RTM release so I think you are out of
luck in getting new drivers for RC2 to support your display's native
resolution.

Same problem with Acer AL1916W and RTM.

Solved by using powerstrip

If using Nvidia-based video, try the 96.33 driver, not the later ones.
Here, it provides the 1440X900 that you seek, using a 19" Samsung panel
fed digitally.
