Vista Business Won't Retain Display Settings
OK....I have a SONY Vaio laptop running Vista Business. It has an NVidia
Geforce 7300 (I believe). I also have a dock for the laptop which I use
when I am in the office.

No matter how many times I set the display the way I want it (which is to
configure each screen independently...the laptop screen as well as the DELL
flat panel that I have connected via the dock......when I come back each day
and connect it to the dock, the video comes up ONLY on the laptop
screen....and it doesn't retain the display setting on the external screen.

Additionally, I have told Vista how to behave when the lid is closed
(selected "do nothing" on battery and in AC power) and that setting won't
get saved either. Sure enough, when I close the lid it triggers changes in
the settings when I have told it do nothing.

Does this have to do with the fact that I am using the NVidia graphics
adapter?

Any suggestions....it's EXTREMELY annoying.

Thanks.

Re: Vista Business Won't Retain Display Settings
Have you tried Sony support. Was Vista installed on the laptop when you
bought it.

RE: Vista Business Won't Retain Display Settings
I am experiencing the same problem with dual monitors (see my previous post
from yesterday). Let me know if you solve it.

About the problem with closing your lid, it might be that your BIOS is
overriding the settings in Vista. Could be worth checking out.
