Computer Maintenance - Turn Off?

My Windows Vista system is running almost all day every day. It Turns on
around 7am and goes off around 11pm at night... In Between there it stays
on... I have Windows Vista's default power settings on..

2 questions

1.) Is it better for your computer to turn it on and off every time you get
up and leave (could be intervals of 30 minutes to an hour, 10+ times a day),
or is it better to leave it on all day, and turn it off at night.

2.) Is windows vistas default power saving settings ok for my situtation?

What i'm really interested in is leaving it on though.

Leave it on. mine has been on for several years and no problem. john
