Vista freezes everytime I insert a disc

Boy have I been having trouble! One issue is that anytime I insert a disc to
install a driver or modem Vista freezes and I cannot pull up task manager
and have had to manually shut down my computer (XPS 410) numerous times. Any
ideas?

Vista logs errors, so look at an error report by > Start >All Programs >
Maintenance > Problem Reports and Solutions. Peruse the report for any
errors listed and focus on any solutions recommended. Let's hope it provides
a clue as to what the issue is all about.
