Some Common n Major Probs In Vista........

COM Surrogate & other proceses has stopped working
Hey..!
I'm using Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Vista(TM) Ultimate Verision 6.0
(Build 6000)
I'm facing some problems which are listed below...Plz Suggest some
solution....!
Problems Are...
1. COM Surrogate Has Stopped Working......[It occurs whenever i open a
folder containing Media Files likewise...Videos...Movies...etc..!]
2. My Windows Media Player stops working whenever I play some Video or
Movie in it. but it plays Music(MP3) files....!
3. Rundll32 Has Stopped Working...[It Occurs occassionally..]

No nero Or Roxio Installed man....!omly DivX Codecs And DivX Player 6.5
installed...!

1. For Nero as devil has said the trick may work...! I'm not sure bcz i
hvnt installed nero...!

2. DivX and XviD and all other codecs....Just uninstall them and
install VISTA CODEC PACKAGE v441.......! It ia available
here..'http://www.softsea.com/download/Vista-Codec-Package.html'
(http://www.softsea.com/download/Vist...c-Package.html)

It worked on my PC....!

3. For COM Surrogate The DEP Turn of method works for some...for me it
didn't worked...! Mine COM Surrogate error was resolved by VISTA CODEC
PACKAGE v441....!

Aactually this Component Object Model (COM) is a platform for
developing software components developed by Microsoft and commonly used
on operating systems such as Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 2003
Server. COM has been known under many names over the last few years
including OLE, ActiveX, DCOM and COM+. Essentially it is designed to
allow for easy re-use of software.

How to help fix this?
Usually some software is out of date on your PC. You could try updating
your software components. You might try updating software like Nero or
DivX as this often happens with media software players for video files,
music or MP3s. Other people have reported success by using QuickTime or
Real Alternative.

But as i said that i got success in getting it fixed just by installing
VISTA CODEC PACKAGE v441....!

So that's all I have come to knw while googling for the solution to all
these probs guyz.......!

Do NOT install Vista codec packs -- if you have been reading these forums for
any length of time, you will learn that codec packages can frequently cause VERY
severe problems with WMP, WMM, and WDVDM that can be very hard, if not
impossible to diagnose and correct, frequently causing a complete reinstall of
Vista. ONLY download and install codecs from their manufacturers.
