Please help. Code 39.

Alright, my DVD+/-R/W / CD-R/W drive is missing. I went into the device
manager and there it says:

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing. (Code 39)."

My computer is barely 3 months old and was bought with Windows Vista on it,
as well as all hardware installed.

I have run into many solutions for my problem, but they seem to be for
Windows XP.

Will those solutions help me, or do I need something specific to my computer?

Hi,

If the solutions were regarding removing the upper and lower filters strings
in the registry, then yes they should work for you.
