Vista wireless drivers
Hello,
I work at a college and students are bringing their new laptops with Vista
(all different version) into the Help Desk because they can't connect to our
wireless network. They connect to the access points, get an IP address, but
can't go anywhere. Google comes up and you can search for anything and get a
response, but when you click on a link it just sits there and doesn't go
anywhere. We have contacted our wireless vendor and they said it is an issue
with Vista or a driver.
On older cards (Intel 2200ABG) it works just fine. We tried doing a "fresh"
install of Vista and still can't connect. Finally we tried an XP driver on
the card (Intel 3945ABG) with a computer running Vista and we can connect
just fine now. However this is just a work around and doesn't make any sense
at all why we have to revert back to XP when we are running Vista.
Any help or insite on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
Chris
