i am also having this problem. i can't tell if it is because i tried to install a brand new external hard drive and it corrupted my system.. or if it is VISTA!! Vista is having a lot of problems. i am having this problem with WPD, it thinks there isn't memory when there is a lot, and it won't recognize some external memory devices suddenly.. let's not leave out i can't hear any sound!

let's not forget i am not using a beta version..i am using windows vista for business!

Re: Can't start Microsoft WPD Filesystem Volume Driver

Hey yourgoodimbetter,

that solution worked for me... i just didn't want to have a drive
letter assigned to my memory stick slot which i almost never use... so
having a drive without letter isn't possible anymore without erroneous
devices? weird vista...

bye
