vista can't detect my thumbdrive
i jst got a new laptop with vista installed, when i plug in my sandisk U3
micro cruzer, it was detected n showed ready to use, but when i clicked to
"My Computer", it showed no removable disk inside. However other USB devices
like mouse and keyboard are still working. Could anyone tell me what's the
problem and how to solve it?

No guarantees, but I had a USB stick with a U3 partition which Vista
showed as a CD drive (of all things!) rather than a USB drive.

I had no use for the U3 partition so I removed it using the 'remove'
utility from u3.com, and after that the USB stick behaved like my two
other USB sticks.

Anyway, look for a strange CD drive -- you may find it there.
