Cannot Boot into Vista
My custom built pc will not successfully boot into Vista x64. It keeps
crashing/BSOD then restarting. This began after I exchanged "faulty" ram
at Frys with good ram. They tested the ram at the store... Mobo is
fairly new.
One of their techs said there might be compatibility issues between the
mobo brand, Gigabyte, and the ram, Kingston. Is there any truth to that?
Or is something else malfunctioning? PC crashes with 8GB, 6GB, 4GB & 2GB
installed...
The specs on the unit:
Gigabyte MA78GM-US2H
Kingston ValueRAM PC-6400 8GB,
AMD X2 5600+ 2.9Ghz processor
Seagate 200GB HD
Samsung 640GB HD
Sony DVDR
Antec Basiq 500watt PSU
Windows Vista x64 Ultimate

Few questions, are you using 2gb dimm's in all 4 slots? if not how do you have it physically arranged? (what plugged into the red and what plugged into the yellow slots
everything worked before the ram went for a ****? if so, and you replaced the ram with new pc2-6400 then there must be something wrong with the ram, it only makes sence. If there's nothing wrong with the ram it's self, then there's something wrong with how you're setting it up, or somethings ****ing up because your board should be able to run that ram....it can run , PC2-5300, PC2-6400, PC2-8500, PC2-9600
