What is Data Interface in Other Devices ?
Running Vista 32-bit Enterprise...

In the Device Manager, under Other Devices, I see a device called Data
Interface. It's current state is:

"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)"

I don't know what this is or how to find a driver for it, but I suspect that
it is causing problems with my Dell 946 AIO printer install. The print
drivers install fine, and I can print with no problems. What I can't do is
install the All-In-One Dell software that enables me to control the scanner
functions. The install complains about the USB connection.

I suspect that this mysterious Data Interface plays a role in my problem.

Here are a few of the properties of the device:

Hi John, the bangs in Device Manager are waiting for you to install the driver: Dell Wireless 5700 VZW Mobile Broadband CDMA EVDO MiniCard; Dell driver file# R159127 (if you're running XP). Here's the direct link: http://ftp.us.dell.com/comm/Dell_mul...02_R159127.exe

God bless...

Hello,
I have the same problem with windows 7 when I try to connect a Novatel wireless MC760 mobile Broadband USB stick to an Acer D257 netbook. it says "Data Interface- The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)"

the stick is not recognized and I cannot use the mobile broadband internet. On my Dell Laptop the stick works perfectly.
What can I do?
