my dvd is not reading dvd's

my dvd rw is not reading any dvd but it reads other cd's but not dvd's
and it used to play the dvd just fine until I installed the poweriso
but now i removed it and still the same it wont read any dvd
any ideas

the problem was with dvd-rw itself
i replaced it with a new one (on warranty)
problem solved
