missing atapi driver

help! my cd/dvd driver has dissapeared!! yellow warning sign code 19. when i try for update message says i "currently have the best driver", but it's not there!!!
i have tried microsofts repair download but that keeps stop working.
i have atapi dvd a dh16aip ata on my computer. most grateful for help but in plain english please i am not that into computers. thanks in advance
