Vista 64 doesn't see 8 gigs of ram. Just 4

Hard drive=Western Digital Caviar Greenpower 500gb 7200, 16mb sata-300

CPU fan= Masscool 8WA741

What do I need to do?
done the mother board update to 64 bit. no help.

Have you tried updating Vista with SP1?

Have you by any chance a max memory setting defined in msconfig?

Not all MOBOs support 8GB of memory. Check your MOBO and BIOS
documentation

Go into BIOS, change the "Memory hole remap" setting, save and exit BIOS.
Repeat and change the same setting back to the original one.

From what you posted about your MOBO it does not support higher than 4 Gigs (look it
up) That is the reason that you cannot read higher than 4 gigs. You need to Upgrade
to a Mobo that will support high RAM such as for 64bit systems or Server environment
systems.
