Lost all sound
I am using windows vista on Toshiba Laptop and one day the sounds decided to
stop working. I have checked the speakers and says it's all working properly.
I did a windows update but can't see that the cause. Am hoping some one can
give me any advice me not a computer wizz and don't want to click on
something I shouldn't.

At the risk of offending you, is the sound turned up? Toshibas have a volume
wheel (usually on the front) that is easily turned all the way down by
mistake.

If this isn't your case and this is a recent sudden change, try a System
Restore to when things worked.

Not all do! My Satellite L40 doesn't.....

Did you install drivers for the Audio from Windows Update? Try rolling back
the driver if that is the case.

Trying not to sound very silly but how do u roll back the driver?

Click on the start Orb, click in the search bar at the bottom, type in
device manager. Double click on Device Manager when it appears.

Click the + next to the picture of the speaker - another speaker
appears underneath - right click this and click Properties.

Click the Driver Tab - click Roll Back Driver button and ok.

If the Roll Back Driver button is greyed out - there is no previous
driver .

In that case, do a System Restore to a point before you had the
problem.
