cd-r inaccessible to blank disc

My CD-R seems to be working fine. It plays music, and works fine with all my
cd's, new or recorded. The problem is that it shows up as inaccessible with
blank disc's. I've tryed 10 of them from several different manufacturers. Any
suggestions?
