When I try to install the version 8.5 (from the ATI site) nothing happens.
If I force to install the new drive, Vista Update still inform the best
drive is the older, and the CCC (Catalyst control center) still not installed.

drivers which are often modified by the Laptop manufacturer, source these
from your Laptop site. - and if it aint broke why fix it?

While that was true for XP it doesn't appear to be for Vista.

Re: I can't install ATI Catalyst in Vista
Visit: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers...k/as_3660.html
and from the MS Windows Vista drop-down list select
"ATI VGA driver 8.31.100.32q" to download the correct drivers
for your video adapter.

Re: I can't install ATI Catalyst in Vista
>You shoud'nt be installing drivers from winupdate, While that was true

Actually, it is. I never install Video or Sound drivers from Winupdate,
90% of the time, it corrupts the drivers. Even in vista. For a while
Realtek's audio drivers were broken on Winupdate. I would have to
uninstall and reinstall original or latest from manufacturer. Just
recently, on a new build, Intel video drivers corrupted, I have seen
this a lot with Nvidia also.
So, I advise, don't install Audio or Video drivers from Winupdates. I
have not had problems with any others. Which is strange.

Re: I can't install ATI Catalyst in Vista
I try this option, but still not working (I try to uninstall all drives, turn
off anti virus, and use the administrator account)...
The CCC still not instaled... like the drive...
The drives in this pack do not list the 200M, I force the 1150
The report of instalations said:
ATI Catalyst Install Manager - ok
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 red 32 bit - ok
And list as "detected", but no actions:
1) ATI Radeon Xpress Series
2) ATI Integrated SMBus Support
No error messages report
(note, I try to install in English, and in Portugues-BR)
