Microphone does not stay muted in vista!

Hi,
I have this problem in vista that is quiet annoying. I know how to mute the
microphone in audio playback devices to stop the annoying feedback however
everytime I restart vista it goes back un-muted and I have to mute it again
manually. I have vista ultimate sp1 and Creative SB Audigy soundcard. The
Audigy driver does not have an independent mixer control and everything else
works fine. I believe this problem is not related to my soundcard or anything
else in my setup. I would like to keep the mic muted in Playback devices and
at the same time enabled in Recording devices by default like in XP when you
mute the mic in Playback devices it remains muted even after restart. Is
there a way to keep it muted by default in vista like maybe a registry
settings?
