Dual Screen Issues

Hi there - I have just installed Vista Ultimate in a dual boot arrangement
with Xp pro. I run a dual monitor - one at 1600 x 1200 and the other at 1280
x 1024. The problem I am having is if I try and run them dual and independant
- i.e diffeent things on each screen (Not Cloned it works) I get a screen
full of blue wavey lines and you cant read anything. Also happens if you try
changing screen res. So far i have tried 3 different drivers but same result.
In XP it all works fine so has to be either Vista or the Nvidia Driver. Any
clues to what it might be?

PC Specs: E8400 / Gigabyte EP35-DS4 / 2Gb RAM / Nvidia 7950Gt 512Mb Card /
vista + XP partitioned.

Use third-party multi-monitor management software such as UltraMon (not
free) or VirtuaWin (IIRC free).

Don't Panic!

I have a similar setup to you, but with a more primitive NVidia 7600GS card.
One of my monitors is a widescreen LCD, the other a VDU running at 1280 *
1024.

Mine works perfectly, so I don't think we can blame Vista. This does sound
like a driver problem to me - NVidia drivers are known to be pretty
hopeless.

In fact, I run my system with the basic Vista driver that got installed by
default. It works beautifully, although I understand it doesn't support
various gaming-related features (no concern to me).

If you don't play games, I'd be tempted to uninstall your video driver and
let Vista install the default driver. Got to be worth a try.
