Western Digital MyBook 500 GB

i have windows vista Business 32 bit...i just bought
a Western Digital My Book Premuim ES Edition 500 GB.....but there is a
problem,i
cant seem to eject it. When i connect it its not even list in the "SAFE
REMOVAL" place....the only way i can safely eject the drive is by
shutting
down my laptop.Is there is a solution to this problem?

Why do you feel you need to eject it? It should be hotswappable (just
disconnect the firewire or usb connector).

You can only do this if you've turned off write caching for this drive.
Otherwise you run the risk of data loss.

On the other hand, maybe the Western Digital install software does this by
default, hence the lack of a Safely Remove option? Just supposition on my
part.
