USB Mouse freeze when Vista Boots

My Microsoft USB mouse is freezing up every time I restart my Dell
Dimension 9100. To get it to work, I need to unglug it and then it
works fine. Any ideas what the problem could be? Same mouse works
fine when I boot into Windows XP. Thanks.
