CD/DVD ROM

I recently istalled Windows Vista Home Premium on my new PC I built and now
every time I put a cd or dvd in their repective drives nothing happens. And
before anyone says it yes I have autorun turned on. if I open MY computer the
bar at the top starts populating it gets to the x and stops and will sit
there for hours. Can anyone help or give me any idea what the problem is and
how to fix it.

did you load all the chipset drivers? do you have a very new to market
motherboard?

Yes I have an Asus P5NSLI MOBO and no I could not load the chipset drivers
from the disk, but now that you ask that I could have downloaded them from
ASUS DOH!! Brain fart.
