Sync Windows Mobile devices with Vista (WMDC)

So has anyone been able to successfully sync a WM 5.0 device with Vista?
I've installed WMDC 6 several times (including full uninstall/reinstall),
reset my device, checked for updates, done a hard reboot and sacrificed a
black goat by the light of the new moon--no luck. WMDC just refuses to see
my smartphone. Thanks in advance.

Never mind I found the solution in another posting... FYI it's a problem
