Make sure the laptop is plugged in with the A/C adapter. Now look at the
manual that came with your laptop to see how to increase the brightness.
With some laptops, you need to press the FN key + [some other key]; with
other laptops you need to just press a function key. If you didn't get a
paper manual, there is usually a User's Manual on the hard drive - or
there will be one on the laptop mftr.'s website.
If you cannot increase the brighteness this way, then immediately return
the laptop for replacement.
