Wireless Optical Desktop 700 issue with Vista

I have, as the subject says, a Wireless Optical Desktop 700, it works fine
when its hooked up to a computer running Windows XP, however, the computer
fails to even recognize it when I plug it into a computer running Vista. I
have searched Microsoft's website and have found the actual desktop set. They
say that it's compatible with Windows Vista and yet it's not working. The
computer doesn't seem to even power the receiver as the light doesn't turn. I
am running 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have this kit and it works... the receiver requires a powered USB port so
if the receiver light's not on I suspect the port... if you have it plugged
into a USB hub, it may very well not be a powered hub... once you get the
light burning, hooking it up through Intellipoint should work (though not
always easy)...
