Who are you talking to?
These are peer to peer newsgroups hosted on Microsoft servers but
there is no requirement or expectation that Microsoft see any
messages.
Did the Acer come with windows Vista?
If so, it is up to Acer to ensure your drivers work properly.
If you upgraded to Windows Vista, then it is possible Acer has decided
not to furnish drivers.
Your resolution if any will have to come from Acer.
