cant get generic usb flash to install

having probs getting my shiny new mp4 player to install, running vista basic
and keeps keeps coming up "cant find drivers", looked in device manager,
clicked on a few things and computer says i have a code 10 error ! im very
new to computers so im a little bit slow and hoping and praying some kind
soul will help me out, thanks in anticipation.
