Microphone mess

I can not set up my microphone. It worked 100% fine with XP, now no sound
comes out of it..... Any ideas? I have tried reconnecting, downloading the
latest drivers for my sound card, tried the setup wizard thingy in Control
Panel.... No effect!

OK. Now my audio driver is gone... It's all crazy! I have started looking for
my XP install CD........
