motion eye webcam

I have got a Sony AR41S Notebook with a built in motion eye camera. The
system tells me that it works but finally the messenger does not find it. The
setup is not possible. They write that windows cannot make a conection. I use
Vista Ultimate. How can I find out whether the camera is wrotten or the
software?
