Try closing all Explorer windows, then open a new one to view the drive,
refresh it, then close the Explorer window. See if it will eject then. If
not, check to make sure that it is set to be optimized for quick removal -
run the Disk Management tool, right-click the removable drive, click
Properties, then the Policies tab, and finally select the option to optimize
for quick removal.
