According to your description, I understand that you cannot burn data thru
a new DVD RW device (Optiarc DVD RW AD-7170A). If I have misunderstood the
problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Based on my research, the device Optiarc DVD RW AD-7170A is not on the HCL
list of Vista, the compatibility of this device on our system is not tested
and therefore its performance on the Vista is not guaranteed.

Therefore, I suggest you try to replace the DVD RW device with a new one
which in Vista HCL list. Then you can test this issue.
