USB-extern harddrive

An USB-connected hard drive don't identifies on a computer with Windows
Vista Ultimate x64.
What is the solution?

Check the group windows.vista.hardware_devices. There are some posts that
shed light on this difficult problem. Some are able to fix it with driver
reinstall, for me it was a hardware solution that fixed it.

Also in vista.general there is plenty stuff on it.
