Check the exact type of your installed RAM with a tool like AIDA or Everest
(find them via Google). Check the part number of the installed module.
And/or contact the manufacturer of your PC and ask for the *recommended* RAM
for additional installation.
I did the same this year and there was no problem with the new RAM.
However, do not expect to achieve the dual channel mode. I was told that
this only works with dedicated and selected RAM-modules. And this is not
necessarily given with modules which are produced at different times, even
if they have the same part number.
