Slightly OT for this Group: Winword and Add To Spelling Dictionary?
Perhaps the good bright people of this Group can help?

I have Office Pro 2007 on Vista Ultimate. The option to ADD TO DICTIONARY
is
grayed out when I right click on a word I need to add to the dictionary.

This option is working in Windows Mail. I have had a look at the .lex file
in Windows Mail and all OK, but can't find the same .lex or .DIC WinWord?
There is
also no available ADD button in PowerPoint Spelling

Thanks
Frenchy

Since this is a Windows Vista newsgroup, you you should ask this in
one of the Office newsgroups:

Solved my own problem with a bit of delving. A bunch of CUSTOM.dic's there,
deleted them and started anew with one named CUSTOM USERS.DIC and all is
working

I had saved the contents of my old CUSTOM.DIC from Office 2003 and pasted
that in and saved it.

Sorry for asking here, I did label it OT and I had asked in the
microsoft.public.office.misc Group but no answers.

Thanks
Frenchy

Frenchy,

Check here: C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\UProof.
Should be a CUSTOM.DIC file in that location.

Re: Slightly OT for this Group: Winword and Add To Spelling Dictionary?
Thanks

Yes, I had found that and that file was there but seemingly an error in it.
I created a new Custom Dictionary

Custom User.dic

That worked fine and I then copied into it, words from my previous Office
2003 Custom.dic and now everything is working OK

Thanks your input though, it may help others
