In the system BIOS, make sure "wake on lan" is turned off and be sure there
are not settings in the BIOS to wake the system with a mouse or keyboard
stroke; some newer systems have that option. There is usually a message on
the first boot screen instructing you to hit a specific key in order to
enter setup. When your system boots, make note of that and if you are
unable to move fast enough, reboot, hit the key as instructed. You will
then need to navigate through the various BIOS sections in order to find the
options mentioned.
