Its the icon named Programs and Features under the control panel.

on my panel its called programs and functions and there is
a icon looking like a cd with a box behind it. It´s just beside the icon
for scanner/camera

The search function is very nice. Just type programs in the upper right
search box. Help and Support (from Start) is also a good tool.

This is not Windows XP.

Open Computer. Look near the top of the window (uninstall or change a
program).
