Have you actually given the acid test to that proposed solution by restoring
several image backups of Vista Ultimate from the DVD or External Hard
Drive -- with all the new Anti-Pirate protection on Vista -- to your
computer and done it successfully, several times?

Have you been able to do it to another computer you own?

If so...

What's to prevent you from restoring it to someone else's computer and
pirating Vista Ultimate?

I have made several Complete PC Backup's and have Restored the without a
problem, seems to work great.....

I have not tried to install a Backup on a different computer, I will leave
that to the "pirates". My system is without any illegal software, and I plan
to keep it that way.....That is not an issue or something I would even
consider, I only plan on keeping my system up and protecting if from a failed
hard drive....

I also did a complete restore early on in my experience with my laptop and
it worked fine. It just took 3 hours (plus another hour to decrappify the
computer).

Same here. I'm not trying to cheat or steal. I just want to be able to use
the software that I paid for, that is genuine, and for which I have a valid
license from Microsoft.

I never said you were a PIRATE.

But if your computer crashs and burns and no longer has VISTA ULTIMATE on it
can you put that IMAGE BACKUP on another box?

You'd still only be running the OS on ONE box.
