Squid Proxy Server

Hi all

I am using Vista on a domain and I am unable to access the internet as I
can't authenticate to the Proxy server.

We are using Squid as the proxy and every other client authenticates fine.
However when the proxy is set for Vista I receive an authentication box
requesting a user name and password. I have tried multiple accounts non of
which work.

Has any one else experienced this or have any ideas on how to fix it?

Gary,

Here's how you authenticate squid using Vista.

On the Vista computer:



1. Click the Start button, type "regedit" in the Start Search box, and
press Enter.

2. Click "Continue" in the User Account Control prompt.

3. Open this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Lsa

4. If they don't already exist, create DWORD values named
LmCompatibilityLevel and NoLmHash.

5. Set LmCompatibilityLevel to 1.

6. Set NoLmHash to 0.

7. Restart the Vista computer.
