Norton Live Update requires Administrator status
When I try to run Norton Liveupdate I get an error message that I need to
have Admnistrator status.

This is my new notebook running Windows Vista. I am the only user and when
I set up my logon protocol I thought I was designated the Administrator.

How do I adjust my Vista setting so that it shows that I have Administrator
status and I can run Liveupdate?

Thanks

Well, the first thing you need to do is check to see if you are indeed the
administrator. Go to Control Panel and then User Accounts to check.

Jason,

I checked my User Accounts and I am listed as Administrator, Password
Protected.

I would love to help you but the last time I tried to help someone I
received a verbal spanking from Richard Urban. I suppose it's because I am
not a MVP. I don't need impolite and rude criticism. I suggest you wait for
an answer from a MVP.

Have a nice day.

Right click and select 'run as administrator. Should work with either the
shortcut or the .exe.

Re: Norton Live Update requires Administrator status
Hello,

When I posted help questions to MS newsgroups, I was actually looking for
helps/advises/suggestions from peers - MVP or not

I see MVPs are just like everyone else including myself with knowledge and
skills in some but not all areas, except I would have a higher expectation
and standard on their conduct.

You don't have to punish other persons in need because you have problems
with one person or MVP

I am sure that anyone received help will feel grateful, even sometime they
(and I) forgot to come back to say thanks.

My 2 cents and good luck!
