from word to works 8.5

I have Windows Vista. I am trying to open an existing file that I had on
another computer and that I have emailed to my new computer with Vista. This
document is a Word document and my Vista has only Works 8.5 to operate with.
It does not recognize word and I havent found any programme that it could
open with.

How do I open Word documents with Works 8.5. Thank you

I have a directory full of my word documents. Works 7 opens them.
Maybe because you spelled program incorrectly. 8>)

The only possible way I can see having that problem is if the Word
Document were in Word 2007 format (the ".docx" extension).

It would certainly work with Word 97-2003 documents.
