Do you have UAC turned on or off? With UAC on, running from my default
account which is a member of the Administrators group, it installed without
issue.

You didn't have to install it in XP compat mode ? I tried with ON and Off
and both time I had to select the installer to run in XP compat mode, to get
around the temp file doesn't have enough free space issue

Dale, no, I didn't use compatibility mode. I never got that temp file not
having enough free space message either.

No problems installing here on x86 Vista Ultimate. Right click on setup
file, run as administrator, from a standard user account, UAC enabled.

No problems here installing AR8... stupid question, but are you sure you
have the Vista version?

Re: Is it saga of Adobe Reader and Vista to continue?
I have tried both, but as I said in my other post I've tried
again and after fresh reboot this time the installation worked
fine for me too. Thanks for reply.

Re: Is it saga of Adobe Reader and Vista to continue?
In my case, Adobe reader refused to install and gave temp folder access
permission when I turn the UAC off. But if I turn UAC ON it will install
with no problem.
